We arrived in Heathrow at 7:00 am London time which was 1:00 am Missouri time. It took a little over an hour to get through border entry to have our passports stamped.
We picked up our bags then out to the taxi stand. Our original plan was to take a taxi to Marylebone train station then a train to Banbury. Due to no sleep and not looking forward to dragging our luggage onto a train, we had our cab driver deliver us to Twyford Wharf. The cost was a bit more than the train but well worth the convenience.
We arrived at Twyford around 10:30. Colin and Louise were there to meet us. Colin drove us to town so we could have breakfast and do some grocery shopping. The Sainsbury even had an American section.
Colin returned at noon to take us back to the boat. They had already loaded our luggage aboard. We spent a little time stowing our clothes and groceries. A quick walk through the boat to familiarize ourselves with the systems then we shoved off.
This boat is 63' long. I didn't take long for Sherri and I to get the hang of steering a longer boat. Take it slow and start your turns early.
We have called it an early evening and are moored across from the Pig Farm. Sherri is fixing me a ham and Pig Farm sausage sandwich.
I took a short walk then finally gave out. I was in bed by 6:00 pm. That ended my 39 hours straight with no sleep.
Looks lovely. Nothing like an iconic black taxi! And Sainsbury even has Diet Coke. So many places have only Coke One. Pig Farm pics, please! Sleep well, my friends.
